Soul surrendered

Soul surrendered silently,
stood back, let spirit speak,

and traced cool hands across

fear’s brow; certainty released.

There was a moment trembling,

as sorrow held new court,

and then all fell, dissembling;

nothing as I thought.

In pieces broken, scattered

did past fall brittle sure,

a shattering of what had been;

the future then did call.
